Introducing GrowthQuester
What does GrowthQuester do?
GrowthQuester does multimedia publishing.
But that answer alone doesn't tell you why GrowthQuester exists or what its publishing is intended to accomplish.
GrowthQuester LLC is a multimedia publishing company with a standing directive:
Cause humans to become better able to flourish and prosper.
That directive provides a reason for doing what we do and a standard against which our activities can be evaluated.
GrowthQuester does multimedia publishing that is aimed at causing people to become better able to flourish and prosper while living on Earth.
What Does “Flourish and Prosper” Mean?
Flourishing and prospering are bigger than making money.
Financial prosperity can certainly matter. People need resources. Money can provide food, shelter, transportation, healthcare, education, experiences, opportunities, security, choices, and greater control over how they use their time.
But a human life involves much more than finances.
To flourish can mean becoming healthier, more capable, more knowledgeable, more aware, more connected, more creative, more resilient, more independent, or better able to experience and enjoy life.
To prosper can mean making progress toward a condition that a person considers better than the condition they are currently experiencing.
GrowthQuester does not presume that everyone wants exactly the same life.
Quite the opposite.
One person may want greater financial independence. Another may want meaningful relationships. Someone else may want to start a business, learn a skill, solve a problem, travel, create something, improve their circumstances, understand themselves better, or simply figure out what they want to do next.
GrowthQuester's role is not to dictate the destination.
Our aim is to cause people to become better able to pursue their own worthwhile destinations.
Why Multimedia Publishing?
Because ideas can change what happens next.
A person can encounter a question and think about something they have never seriously considered.
An article can introduce an unfamiliar possibility.
A video can demonstrate something previously unknown.
A survey can cause someone to examine their present circumstances.
A book can influence someone's thinking for decades.
A conversation can expose a problem, reveal an opportunity, challenge an assumption, or produce an entirely new idea.
Publishing makes it possible to put those catalysts into the world.
And multimedia publishing allows us to do it through many forms: questions, articles, books, websites, images, videos, audio, surveys, digital question cards, social media, educational material, interactive experiences, and whatever useful publishing formats emerge in the future.
The medium can change.
The standing directive remains.
Cause humans to become better able to flourish and prosper.
Sometimes a Question Is Enough
GrowthQuester places unusual importance on questions.
Why?
Because telling someone what to think and causing someone to think are very different activities.
Consider a simple question:
What would you deliberately change about your life if you knew you could successfully change it?
GrowthQuester doesn't need to provide the answer.
The person encountering the question does.
A carefully constructed question can direct a person's attention toward something that has been ignored, overlooked, misunderstood, accepted without examination, or never previously considered.
That makes questions extraordinarily interesting publishing tools.
A question can travel around the world while carrying no predetermined answer with it.
Two people can encounter exactly the same question and discover completely different things about themselves.
That is valuable.
We Are Interested in What Happens After You Encounter Something
Publishing is commonly measured by numbers.
How many views?
How many followers?
How many clicks?
How many copies were sold?
Those measurements can be useful, but GrowthQuester is interested in another question:
What happened to the person because they encountered what we published?
Did the person think?
Did they notice something?
Did they discover something?
Did they ask another question?
Did they start a conversation?
Did they learn something useful?
Did they identify a problem?
Did they recognize an opportunity?
Did they make a decision?
Did they take an action?
Did they become even slightly better able to navigate their own life?
If so, something meaningful may have happened.
“Cause” Is an Important Word
GrowthQuester's standing directive does not merely say that we hope people flourish and prosper.
It uses the word cause.
That word creates a higher standard.
It asks us to consider whether something we create, publish, distribute, recommend, promote, or facilitate has the potential to produce an actual effect.
At the same time, GrowthQuester cannot guarantee what another human being will do.
We cannot guarantee that someone will read an article.
We cannot guarantee that someone will seriously consider a question.
We cannot guarantee that someone will act on useful information.
And we certainly cannot guarantee that everyone who encounters GrowthQuester will flourish or prosper.
That is why a more precise description of our work is:
GrowthQuester does multimedia publishing aimed at causing people to become better able to flourish and prosper while living on Earth.
The intention belongs to GrowthQuester.
What an individual ultimately does with what they encounter belongs to that individual.
Better Able
Those two words are central to the entire idea.
GrowthQuester does not have to make someone prosperous.
It does not have to create someone's ideal life for them.
It does not have to solve every problem they face.
The immediate objective can be much more fundamental:
Cause the person to become better able.
Better able to recognize opportunities.
Better able to identify problems.
Better able to ask useful questions.
Better able to communicate.
Better able to make informed decisions.
Better able to earn.
Better able to create.
Better able to collaborate.
Better able to adapt.
Better able to distinguish between what is working and what isn't.
Better able to imagine alternatives.
Better able to act deliberately rather than merely continue doing what they have always done.
An increase in ability changes what becomes possible.
GrowthQuester Isn't the Quester
You are.
The name GrowthQuester contains an idea.
Growth is not necessarily something that simply happens to a person. It can become something a person deliberately pursues.
A quest has movement.
It has uncertainty.
It involves exploration.
It can include mistakes, discoveries, obstacles, decisions, experiments, failures, successes, and unexpected destinations.
And no two quests need to be identical.
GrowthQuester can publish something that points toward a possibility.
You decide whether to investigate it.
GrowthQuester can ask a question.
You decide whether to answer it.
GrowthQuester can present information.
You decide what significance, if any, that information has for your life.
GrowthQuester can introduce an opportunity.
You decide whether to explore it.
That relationship preserves something extremely important:
Your autonomy.
An Experiment Conducted in Public
GrowthQuester itself can be viewed as an ongoing experiment.
What happens when a multimedia publishing company adopts a standing directive to cause humans to become better able to flourish and prosper?
What kinds of questions should it publish?
What information should it investigate?
What conversations should it initiate?
What problems should it draw attention to?
What opportunities should it make easier to discover?
What products, services, organizations, people, ideas, and resources should it introduce to its audience?
And perhaps most importantly:
Can publishing deliberately increase a person's ability to create a better future for themselves?
We intend to find out.
Not merely by discussing the idea.
By doing it.
Publishing.
Asking.
Testing.
Observing.
Learning.
Improving.
And continuing.
You Are Invited to Participate
You don't need permission from GrowthQuester to become better able to flourish and prosper.
You don't need to adopt someone else's definition of prosperity.
And you don't need to know exactly where your quest will lead before beginning.
You can start with an examination of where you are.
Then consider where you would like to go.
Then ask what might increase your ability to get there.
GrowthQuester will continue creating and publishing material intended to help make that examination possible.
Some of it may be immediately useful to you.
Some of it may not.
Some of it may cause you to disagree.
Some of it may cause you to investigate.
And occasionally, you may encounter one question, one idea, one person, one opportunity, or one piece of information that changes what you do next.
That possibility is enough reason for us to keep publishing.
One Final Question
GrowthQuester has made a decision about what it intends to cause.
Now the question belongs to you:
When, if ever, will you deliberately cause yourself to become better able to flourish and prosper while living on Earth?
Welcome to GrowthQuester.
